The lip augmentation procedure will depend on the treatment method you choose. Lip injections, fat transfers, and skin resurfacing treatments are all fairly simple treatments with little to no downtime. Removing excess skin and inserting lip implants require more extensive treatment. For lip implants, Dr. Layton uses the SurgiSil Perma Facial Implant™. The Perma Facial Implant™ is available in many sizes and can be used in both upper and lower lips. This is the ideal implant for lip augmentation because it can be easily removed at any time. It is also immune to rupturing and deflation. If the patient chooses to surgically remove excess skin near the lips, a small incision will be made through which excess skin will be trimmed and tightened. These procedures can be performed in-office under local anesthesia.
