What is a Thigh and Body Lift?

A thigh lift reshapes the thighs by reducing excess skin and fat, resulting in smoother skin and better-proportioned contours of the thighs and lower body. A body lift surgery is for someone with lax or loose skin that extends all around the body and includes the abdomen, lateral thighs, buttock, and back. It has become more common with the increase in bariatric or weight loss surgeries. Thigh and body lifts are comprehensive body sculpting procedures that eliminate excess skin to enhance the contours of the body and produce a firmer, more youthful appearance.

How Much Do Thigh and Body Lifts Cost?

During your consultation, Dr. Layton will be able to provide you with a treatment plan that matches your specific needs. At this point, we will be able to provide you with the exact cost of your treatment. We also offer financing services to help make this and other treatments more affordable.

What is the Difference Between Inner and Outer Thigh Lifts?

An inner thigh lift targets only the inner areas of the thighs. This may be best for patients who experience discomfort from their thighs rubbing together, or for those who would like to achieve a thigh gap. An outer thigh lift addresses the outer thighs and the area towards the hips, resulting in a wider treatment area and more noticeable results.

How to Get a Thigh Gap

A thigh gap is a highly sought-after cosmetic trait, but one that can be incredibly difficult or even impossible to obtain from diet and exercise alone. For patients who wish to achieve a thigh gap, an inner thigh lift—also called a medial thigh lift—can help you achieve one.

What is the Thigh Lift Procedure Like?

The location of your incisions during your thigh lift will depend on the type of thigh lift being performed as well as your personal preference. For medial thigh lifts, incisions are typically placed in the groin. Then, the skin and fat are elevated and separated from the underlying muscle. Excess skin is removed, and the remaining skin is re-draped and carefully sutured to minimize scarring.

What is the Difference Between an Upper and Lower Body Lift?

The body lift procedure can be performed on either the upper or lower part of the body. An upper body lift targets the arms, chest, and upper back. A lower body lift targets the thighs, buttocks, abdomen, and lower back.

What is the Body Lift Procedure Like?

During a body lift, an incision is made and extended around both sides of the patient to just above the buttock crease. A tummy tuck is performed, excising the excess fat and skin from the abdomen. The patient is then turned on each side, one at a time, where the excess skin on each lateral thigh is removed. Finally, you are placed face down and the excess skin on the back and buttock areas is removed.

How is Recovery Following Thigh and Body Lifts?

The recovery from body and thigh lifts are fairly lengthy, requiring about six to eight weeks of downtime before all normal activities can be resumed. It is common to experience bruising, swelling, and discomfort in the treatment area for several weeks. Patients often have to take two weeks or more off of work and other obligations in order to rest and recover.
