What is Blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty, commonly referred to as eyelid surgery, is a facial surgery technique that addresses signs of aging in the eyes. Over the years, the eyelids can droop and sag, causing a tired appearance or even interfering with your vision. When the lower eyelids begin to sag, you may notice bags under the eyes. At Layton Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, we offer both upper and lower eyelid surgery to help patients achieve their cosmetic goals.

How Much Does Blepharoplasty Cost?

The cost of a blepharoplasty procedure can vary depending on the type of eyelid surgery performed. An upper eyelid surgery ranges from $3,300 to $3,800, and a lower eyelid surgery ranges from $4,900 to $5,300. During your consultation, Dr. Layton will be able to provide you with a treatment plan that matches your specific needs. At this point, we will be able to provide you with the exact cost of your treatment. We also offer financing services to help make this and other treatments more affordable.

What is Upper Eyelid Surgery?

Upper eyelid surgery is a common procedure to remove excess skin or fat between the eyebrow and eyelashes. With an upper eyelid surgery, patients can achieve a refreshed, rejuvenated appearance in the eyes.

What is Lower Eyelid Surgery?

Lower eyelid surgery can treat many concerns, including bags under the eyes, droopiness of the lower eyelids, excess skin, fine lines and wrinkles, and dark circles under the eyes. These conditions may occur as part of the natural aging process or be due to genetics. Where they are the result of genetics, individuals as young as 20 or 30 may achieve a marked improvement in the appearance of their eyes through surgery.

How is Eyelid Surgery Performed?

During eyelid surgery, an incision is made within the natural folds of the eyelids so that any scarring is virtually invisible. Through these incisions, we will remove excess skin and either remove or reposition fat to produce the desired results. Then, the incisions are closed with stitches, which are removed approximately five to seven days following surgery.

How is Recovery After Eyelid Surgery?

During the first week or two following surgery, patients will want to rest the eyes as much as possible to ensure a smooth recovery. During this time, patients may experience bruising, swelling, or blurred vision. After the stitches are removed, patients will notice a gradual reduction in these side effects until their results are fully visible.
